Government and union representatives held consultations on Tuesday regarding the new wage law.

The discussions were attended by the interim Minister of Labor, Dragos Pjslaru, and the state counselor in the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, Luciana Antoci, according to a press release sent by the Executive.

Government representatives received a mandate from Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan to hold consultations with the unions, based on the principle of social dialogue, agerpres reports.

„The incomes paid in the public system will not be diminished by the application of the new payroll law. This is a basic principle of the project developed under the coordination of the former Minister of Labor, Florin Manole. After clarifying all aspects related to the fiscal space, we will begin extensive consultations with representatives of trade union confederations, professional families and unions, so that the consolidated form of the project is the result of an extensive debate,” stressed Dragos Pislaru.

The minister also highlighted the importance of social partners for maintaining social stability, implementing reforms and development projects.

During the meeting, the following issues were also addressed: the effects of budget expenditure reduction measures, the reorganization of Romsilva, the salaries of TESA personnel in the healthcare and social assistance system, the legislation regarding military pensions, as well as in the steel, mining, and railway transport sectors.

The union representatives will send the Ministry of Labor, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity details regarding the reported issues, so as to continue the dialogue on solutions, the press release states.

„We will pay full attention to the specific issues raised and together, through dialogue, find solutions to resolve them,” said Minister Dragos Pislaru.
